Antes nos gustaría contarte que estas bombas de semillas las hacen chicos de un centro ocupacional y luego otro equipo de Valencia se ocupa de packaging. Nos encanta que todos ellos sean parte de lo que hoy tú tienes en tus manos.

First of all, we would like to tell you that these seed bombs are made by kids from a social workshop in Valencia. We love that they are all part of what you have in your hands today.

Estas bombas de semillas, también llamadas Nendo Dango, , es una técnica de cultivo muy sencilla, económica y sobre todo eficiente a la hora de reforestar, reverdecer o regenerar suelos; desarrollada por el biólogo, agricultor y filósofo japonés Masanobu Fukuoka

These seed pumps, also called Nendo Dango, is a very simple, economical and especially efficient cultivation technique when reforesting, greening or regenerating soils; developed by the Japanese biologist, farmer and philosopher Masanobu Fukuoka

Estas bombas son unas bolas de arcilla, a poder ser roja y de dos tipos, gruesa y fina, de unos 2 o 3 centímetros de diámetro; que contengan, dependiendo de cual sea nuestro objetivo, una mezcla de semillas.

These seed bombs are balls made from 2 types of clay, thick and fine, with a dimension of about 2 or 3 centimetres in diameter; containing a mixture of seeds of either parsley or basil.

Esta técnica que requiere de ningún trabajo previo sobre el suelo; y la probabilidad de éxito es alta, gracias a que la arcilla evita que los pájaros se coman las semillas y las protege de las inclemencias meteorológicas.

This technique requires no previous experience in agriculture; and the success rate is high, thanks to the clay that prevents birds from eating the seeds and protects them from the weather

¡Ahora sí!

Son pasos muy muy simples! Vamos a ello!

1º Debes semienterrar la bomba, es decir, dejar más o menos la mitad de la bomba de semillas por encima de la superficie de la tierra. Aunque la bomba es pequeña, la maceta debe tener al menos 12cm de diámetro.

These are very simple steps! Let’s get to it! First, you must half bury the bomb, more or less half of the seed bomb should be above the surface. Although the bomb is small, the pot should be at least 12cm in diameter for it to grow properly.

2º Riega la bomba sin llegar a encharcar. Es decir, que la tierra esté húmeda pero que no quede la maceta inundada. Lo más importante: mantén la tierra húmeda constantemente (en la medida de lo posible).

Then you have to water the bomb without over watering. Meaning that the soil is wet, but the pot is not flooded. The Most important thing is to keep the soil wet constantly (as much as possible).

3º Necesitan claridad y luz indirecta los primeros días, nada de sol directo! Pasado unos días germinará y aparecerá el brote. Pueden llegar a tardar varias semanas en germinar, no entres en desesperación y por eso abandones! Mantén la tierra húmeda constantemente, pero recuerda, ¡no dejes que se encharque!

The bomb needs clear and indirect light for the first few days, and no direct sun! After a few days the bomb will develop and show some signs of life. Although it can take several weeks to grow, do not get desperate and keep watering the seed as usual, it will grow! Keep the soil moist constantly, but remember, don’t over water it!

MUY IMPORTANTE: Tener en cuenta que los primeros días no debe recibir la luz del sol directamente. Necesitan un ambiente claro y luminoso, pero sin luz directa.

VERY IMPORTANT: Keep in mind that in the first few days it should not receive direct sunlight. They need a clear and bright environment, without direct sunlight.

Debes regar las bombas todos los días hasta que la planta llegue a tener 10 cm de alto. A partir de ahí sólo debes regarla cuando la tierra empiece a secarse. Una vez que germine necesitan una 4-6 horas de sol al día, tanto si las cultivas en exterior como en interior.

You must water the bomb every day until the plant reaches 10 cm high. From there you only have to water it when the soil starts to dry up. Once it develops it needs 4-6 hours of sunshine a day, whether you grow them outdoors or indoors.

Es un pequeño bebe que deberás mimar y cuidar hasta que esté fuerte, debes regar las bombas todos los días hasta que la planta llegue a tener 10 cm de alto. A partir de ahí sólo debes regarla cuando la tierra empiece a secarse entonces ahí ya podrás llevarla progresivamente al exterior o ponerla pegadita a la ventana.

It is a small baby that you must pamper and take care of until it is strong, you must water the seed bomb every day until the plant reaches 10 cm high. From there you only have to water it when the soil begins to dry up then you can take it progressively to the outside or put it in front of the window. As you can see, it is not complicated at all.
